About us

soap factory GmbH was founded in 1993. Filmmaker Frank Matter initially made edgy, low-budget feature films in the U.S. before moving back to Switzerland in 2006. Loredana-N. Fernández joined the team in 2011. soap factory produces documentaries and essay films with a strong auteur vision and politically charged topics. In realizing our films we value a poetical approach and an multi-faceted examination of a complex world. Our productions, among them many debut features, have won numerous international awards.
